What was the first ever eco-friendly car?

    The very first eco-friendly “car” was created in the 1830s by a Scottish inventor. The “car” was essentially a carriage with an electric motor comprised of non-rechargeable cells. A second more practical vehicle was created a couple years thereafter in the form of a small train. Then in 1859 the first lead-acid rechargeable storage battery was invented for automobiles and in 1891 one of these vehicles finally reached North America. It was not until Henry Ford popularized the Model T gas run vehicle that cars running on gasoline truly caught on. Although it may appear that the electric vehicle is a recent invention, in fact it has been around for centuries.
