What was the first country to have a sustainability plan?

    Sustainability practices have increased in the past 15 years. Some of the first countries to adopt plans focused on sustainability were France and Sweden.


    Lille, France began a project to fuel urban buses with biogas in 1994, and “In 1995, the city of Stockholm was one of the first major European cities to make an in-depth analysis of its energy use and to take serious steps to reduce energy consumption”.
