What was the first city to have underground plumbing?

    Ancient Rome was the first city to have a plumbing in the form of aqueducts and belowground pipes. It was only the wealthiest areas that could afford belowdround plumbing. These pipes were made of terra cotta and an early form of concrete. Pipes were often made of soldered lead as well.
