What is Wal Mart doing to be more green?

Walmart is often criticized for being one of the biggest commercial titans and doing so in a greedy selfish way, and rightfully so. However, they seem to be trying to turn a new leaf, and a green leaf at that. Starting in 2005 and continuing still today they are supposedly putting $500 million a year towards their going green efforts. Their three main goals, as seen on their website, are “to be supplied 100 percent by renewable energy, to create zero waster, and to sell products that sustain people and the environment”. While some of Walmarts plans may be vague and not wholly known to the public, even the idea that such a mega-superstore like Walmart is inevitably an eye opener and an example for others to follow. The gravity and influence that Walmart commands will make any improvement in their company shine even brighter and make that much more of a difference in our world.
