Toyota announced Tuesday that floor mats in 3.8 million of its vehicles could cause the accelerator to stick, leading to a crash.
Toyota recalled 3.8 million types of Toyota and Lexus vehicles over speed concerns. The driver’s side floor mats can stick under the accelerator causing a rapid increase in speed when the accelerator is pushed. There have been over 30 crashes related to speed since 2004. Drivers are cautioned to remove the mat entirely until Toyota can implement a permanent fix.
