What is the typical life span of a turtle?

It really depends on the species of turtle, but typically 10-80 years.  A common pet turtle, the Red-Eared Slider, can live between 50 and 70 years.  Generally, the larger the species the longer the lifespan.  A Tortoise, for example, can live to be more than 150 years old!

    Hope this helps!

A box turtle (the kind you can have as a pet) usually lives 40-50 years but could live up to 100.  Land tortoises usually have a lifespan of about 150 years while the aquatic turtles generally live closer to 70 years.  The oldest turtle recorded by humans lived to be 188 years old.
