I don’t know if this is a really fair question. I would argue that we don’t know enough about how long it takes for ecosystems to recover because we haven’t seen very many ecosystems actually make it to be considered recovered. We can see now that some of the first ones to go will be coral reefs, tropical rainforests, and probably many others that we are unaware of. It is conceivable that none of these will ever recover even if left alone right now.
