I go to college in Los Angeles, which has become famous for its smog problem. It’s nowhere near as bad as it was in the 1980’s, but I still notice a big difference in air quality when I go home for breaks. Unfortunately, there’s not much I can do to counter the existing smog, but I do my best to not contribute to the problem. I ride my bike nearly everywhere, and when I do need to travel long distances, I try to use public transport. Worst comes to worst, I see if there’s anyone going the same direction I am and we organize a carpool.
