What type of wood flooring is the best for the environment?

A great ecofriendly wood flooring to consider is bamboo. Bamboo is durable, attractive, and relatively inexpensive. And it is environmental friendly; bamboo grows to maturity in five to seven years vs 50-150 year averages for many other hardwoods. The other benefits of engineered wood flooring include their efficient use of resources. Another alternative is choosing engineered flooring over wood flooring. Engineered flooring uses high quality wood on the top visible surface of the floor, and uses a substrate on the bottom layer(s).
