small, brown to gray in color, extremely venomous
Kraits (genus Bungarus) are of the Elapid family (commonly known as cobras). Like all Elapidae, kraits are venomous, and have hollow fangs for transmitting venom into their victims. Other traits they share with other members of the Elapid family are a long, slender body, smooth glossy scales, tropical/subtropical habitat and neurotoxic venom.
