Most Indigenous people from Alaska to the Caribbean have the smallest carbon footprint, and ironically their regions will be the one of the first affected by climate change. This past April, the U.N.-affiliated Indigenous Peoples’ Global Summit on Climate Change was held in Alaska, with representatives from over 80 nations. Indigenous tribes have had a long history of respect and a personal connection to the planet and its wildlife.
