What type of oil was spilled from the Valdez (light or heavy) and what type of oil is currently flowing into the Gulf of Mexico?

The Exxon Valdez spill contained a much heavier crude oil than the Gulf oil. It was also a lot colder in Alaska, so the oil became even more viscous. The Gulf oil is considered light, but that also makes the chemicals in the oil more volatile.
