I found a company called General Biomass that is “developing engineered cellulase enzymes to convert non-food raw materials to glucose for production of cellulosic ethanol, renewable platform chemicals, bioplastics, and advanced biofuels.”
Basically, they find out new ways to make energy from biomass.
General Biomass Company is an Illinois bases corporation that is researching ways to produce green biodiesal, biojetfuel, and renewable gasoline. They are developing an engineered enzyme that breaks down sugar polymers in biomass (a renewable energy source; mainly living or recently living things such as wood, waste and plants) to create more green and sustainable forms of ethanol and butanol.
