Orange trees thrive more in warmer climates (approximately 50-100 degrees). The warm weather also helps orange trees yield healthier fruit provided that they are watered weekly and fertilized monthly. Of course special attention must be given to these trees during the summer and spring.
Orange trees grow best in a subtropical climate. During the growing season the temperature should range from 55 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit and during the winter season the ideal range should be between 35 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Orange trees do not like freezing temperatures and even a brief drop in temperature below freezing can kill younger trees and severely damage older trees.
