The Nissan Leaf boasts an 80% of full capacity charge that is possible with 30 minutes at a quick charge station. The other option is to charge from home outlets for a period of 8 hours (assuming 240 volt outlet). While the recharging method and station type has a huge effect on the recharging times, so does the model of vehicle. The Chevy Volt, for example, can charge in only 3 hours on a 240 volt outlet, but then only has a range of 40 miles before the gas engine generator kicks in to power the car. So, for quick trips this may be a fast recharging option, but all electric vehicles’ charging time will vary compared to their expected ranges.
