It is difficult to recycle many types of batteries. You can, however, recycle lithium / lithium ion batteries (the kind you use in cameras and calculators), nickel metal hydride batteries (used in flashlights, electronic toys, and cellphones) and car batteries (which are composed of lead acid). There are programs and facilities that will make recycling these batteries easier.
