Typically appliances that require heat and electricity use the consume the biggest amount of energy. This is why the refrigerator and dryer are at the top of the energy-consumption list. The refrigerator must be on at all times (obviously) and uses alot of energy as it cycles to maintain a constant temperature. The dryer–although not on all the time–when used consumes alot of energy, averaging $85.00 USD annually in energy costs.
