What an interesting question! We would have to first consider whether a tree is sentient, and whether it can experience things in the same or similar way that we do. In short, I don’t think we really know about what a tree experiences, etc. I don’t think they are as bored as we might think they would be, since they probably don’t have the same stimulus requirements as we do. Their lives are very long compared to ours, but I think if they are sentient, they are probably happiest in their natural habitats, whether that be a forest with lots of other trees, or a meadow with just a few.
