A transitional environment is a place in which two vastly different environments meet. Through the juxtaposition of the two different environments and the overlapping of their characteristics a transitional environment can exist. One of the most common areas this is found is where land meets the sea. Examples of this include deltas or any shorelines, where the two different environments of land and water clash.
