What time of year should I plant roses?

When you buy a small rosebush or clipping, it’s likely that the roots will be wrapped with a little soil. Keep it like this until you plant, and keep it somewhere moist and cold until you plant it so that it stays dormant. A garage or unfinished basement is ideal. You want to plant it before it starts to grow shoots in the springtime, so right at the end of winter. This varies from place to place, but March or April is usually the time.
