What is a timber wolf and where do they live?

    The Timber Wolf is a member of the family Canidae of the species Canis Lupis. It is also called the Gray Wolf and is related to domestic dogs and coyotes. Timber wolves are found throughout North America, Europe and Asia. In the US, timber wolves are found in prairies and forests from the Rocky Mountain ranges to the Great Lakes areas, though not in high mountain areas. This wolf species is endangered in the US.
