According to their website, Tetra Pak is a form of packaging for beverages and the like made from leftover wood chips. They also produce valves, pumps and heat exchangers.
It also saves companies money, which is probably why it’s becoming more popular on store shelves.
On the downside, they’re a bit difficult to recycle, and recycling facilities don’t exist everywhere. The shiny coating on the outside, polyethlene, fails to make it into most recycling procedures, instead being thrown away after.
