The refrigerator can be set at between 36°F and 38°F, and the freezer at between 0°F and 5°F. This is enough to be both efficient and keep your food from spoiling. Some fridges have a “power saver” switch that turns of the small heater inside, which is intended to keep moisture from building up. Turning this feature off can also help the appliance run more efficeintly.
