    Generally, denial.

    As rigibson said, the Tea Party denies that climate change exists because they distrust science. They also oppose any and all efforts to regulate fossil fuel emissions. Many of them also believe that climate change is cyclical and will disappear in time. Most of their views are a result of a mix of stubbornness and lack of education about environmentalism.
