According to their website, they’re using energy-efficient lighting (and less of it), reducing the amount of electricity and natural gas that their stores use during peak periods, and getting some of their power from renewable sources like solar panels and methane plants. Four Target stores have been LEED certified. Partners are instructed to use office appliances and electronics that have been approved by Energy Star or a similar program, and energy-monitoring devices are supposed to be installed so that usage can be reviewed by Target’s central headquarters.
