    The highest point in Montana is Granite Peak, at 12,799 feet high. It is in the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountain Range, part of the Rocky Mountains. Considered one of the most difficult highpoints of the lower 48 states to climb, it was the last one to have climbers reach it’s summit, in 1923.
