Switchgrass is a bunchgrass. It can grow 2-5 feet tall, and it’s often fully established after a few years, capable of surviving winters. Switchgrass may be used to control erosion, feed livestock, or provide ground cover. It is a perennial grass that thrives in well-drained, fertile soils. It can survive some flooding, though dry conditions can be more harmful.
