A supercomputer is many computers linked together to run incredibly fast and perform specific, complex tasks.  These are normally huge computers that get incredibly hot.  An average supercomputer has thousands of processors, each using about 25,000 milliwatts.  This adds up to be an incredible amount.  There are, however, green supercomputers that use as low as 600 milliwatts per processor.
