The strongest metals known to man are not pure metals. They have been manufactured. Certain types of stainless steel are extremely strong for their weight. Titanium is the strongest metal for its weight, but not the strongest we know of. The aerospace industry uses a metal called Inconel 625 that is strong enough to be used in joints. Aircrafts use alloy steels for their landing gears, which have to be strong enough to support a plane going over 100 mph when it lands.
