A strangelet is a hypothetical particle composed of a “bound state of roughly equal numbers of up, down, and strange quarks” (a quark is an elementary particle that makes up matter). A strangelet is very tiny, with a minimum of a few femtometers across. Strangelets are thought to compose “strange matter”.
I should warn you, this is very abstract. Strangelets, or “sub-stellar agglomerations of strange matter,” are hypothetical (theorized) particles composed of strange, or quark, matter which originates in the cores of neutron stars (masses of densely packed cosmic matter).
