What states have the highest green house gas emissions?

    According to data from the EPA, Texas, California and Pennsylvania all had the highest emmissions from fossil fuel combustion in the United States in 2007. These rankings are based on total emissions, not emissions per capita.

    Texas emitted 676.75 million metric tons of carbon dioxide in 2007, followed by California with 402.77. The third highest emittor in 2007 was Pennsylvania, which emitted 274.30 milion metric tons of carbon dioxide.
