Forbes listed West Virginia as the least green state. States were ranked “in six equally weighted categories: carbon footprint, air quality, water quality, hazardous waste management, policy initiatives and energy consumption.”

For this article, “polluted” means air quality.
At the top of this list SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. LA, Bakersfield, Merced, even Fresno. Also up there: Flint, MI, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Cleveland.
According to Forbes Magazine, West Virginia is the least “green” state, followed by Indiana, and then Alabama.
