According to data collected from 1971 to 2000 by the National Climatic Data Center, the wettest state is Hawaii. This information is for precipitation (including rainfall and snowfall). Hawaii averages 63.7 inches or 1618 millimeters of precipitation every year. For the entire U.S. the average rain and snow fall is 30.21 inches and 767 millimeters each year, so Hawaii is well above the average.
