As of 2004, California produced the most food in the U.S., followed by Texas and Iowa. Texas surpasses California in livestock, however, California produces the most dairy products (California ranks on top for most agricultural and crop production overall). 27% of California’s land is dedicated to farms, and some of its most lucrative crops include grapes, almonds, strawberries, and lettuce.
