Alaska is the state that produces the most oil:
In terms of daily oil production, Alaska is not the leader. Following is from Feb. 2010 World Oil Magazine:
Texas – 1,349,000 barrels per day
Louisiana 1, 159,000 barrels per day
Alaska – 702,000 b/d
California – 645,000 b/d
North Dakota – 202,000 b/d
Alaska is probably not the leader in terms of cumulative production but I can’t find data to prove that.
As of July 2010, Alaska has declined further and is now the #4 producing state after CA, and Louisiana is #1, ahead of TX.
