My original guess was Colorado — but my research leads me to believe that it is actually Nevada. “Nevada has more than 300 named mountain ranges, all running north-south as part of the Great Basin complex. Elevations range from 2,000 to 3,000 feet. The state has the most number of peaks above 10,000 feet.” Nevada is considered the most mountainous state, but I guess the above answer “Alaska” is correct if you just consider how many mountains the state has — but it’s sort of unfair considering how huge Alaska is!
