What species of tuna has the largest population?

There are eight recognized species of tuna: 1) albacore tuna, 2) bigeye tuna, 3) bonito, 4) northern bluefin tuna, 5) southern bluefin tuna, 6) skipjack tuna, 7) tongol, and 8) yellowfin tuna. Most of the species are overfished or moderately to fully exploited. The yellowfin tuna, which is identified as the least concern and being a low-risk species on the list of the World Conservation Union, was cited by fishery managers to be at healthy levels of abundance. Historically though, populations showed a decrease.
