The following the are trout species found in California.

There is brown trout (Salmo trutta), but that’s an introduced rather than native species. Same goes for brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis).

The rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is native to California, and so is cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarki), and golden trout (Oncorhynchus aguabonita).

In addition, the bull trout (Salvelinus confluentus) was native but is now considered extirpated (locally extinct) in California.
