The two species of bears in Yosemite are the Black Bear and the Grizzly. The Black bear is the most common in Yosemite. Grizzly are rare due to being hunted by settlers in the area. Also when visiting the park slow down when driving, many bears get hit by cars. Just throwing it out there.
