Solar stars are solar-type stars that most closely resemble the Sun in both mass (the most important identifier) and evolutionary state (how old it is). They also have a physically similar structure to the Sun. Solar analog and solar twin are two other types of stars with similarities much like the Sun. Solar twin is the type of star most similar to the Sun although no star can match it exactly because the Sun is solitary.
