Kraft food company has come under scrutiny for producing so many junk foods that contribute to the obesity problem in America. A lot of this pressure came in the early 2000’s as the obesity rate in America reached 60% of adults. Their Oreos in particular have been looked down upon for containing transfats, which lead to long term health problems on top of obesity. There is no mention of the adverse effect of transfats on the label, which Kraft blamed on the FDA for not requiring it. The problem went so far that someone in California tried to sue the company to make it not be able to be sold to children in the state (however, it did not work). Another angle people were upset at the company over were their advertisements that target kids (which most all of them do).
