By size alone, the anaconda. Although python snakes grow longer than anacondas, anacondas have much greater girth, with many growing as wide as a grown man. The largest anaconda ever measured was 28 feet in length. They have been known to eat alligators, deer, jaguars, and other snakes.

The largest snake in all history was the extinct titanoboa, which grew over 40 feet in length.
