Being a nuclear waste repository in Nevada, it brings two main points to mind.
First, the U.S. is becoming more serious about nuclear energy and is likely to continue to pour funds and research into it.
Second, all of the regulations it has to abide by remind us of the dangers of nuclear accidents. We have to be very careful with how we handle nuclear energy, plants, and waste because of the health dangers they pose to the human beings within miles (or even the continent/world in the case of an explosion or accident!)
