It’s very difficult to say which shark species is the most endangered. But the International Union for the Conservation of Nature has classified about a dozen species as “critically endangered,” which is two steps away from being extinct in their classification system. These species are: Dumb Gulper Shark, Harrison’s Dogfish, Pondicherry Shark, Ganges Shark, Bizant River Shark, New Guinea River Shark, Northern River Shark, Daggernose Shark, Maltese Skate or Ray, Giant Catfish, Mekong Giant Catfish, Spiny Angel Shark and Smoothback Angel Shark.
