Self healing concrete is basically concrete that automatically repairs any cracks or holes. By filling the concrete with a “healing agent” that ruptures when the concrete breaks and fills the crack in, the concrete appears to heal itself. The healing agent is a gel that takes approximately one week to solidify and will recover 26% of the strength as opposed to the 10% that conventional concrete retains. I’m sure there are other methods of creating self-healing concrete, this was just one of them that I found online.
