What seafood is commonly harvested in the Gulf?

I ask because I would like to avoid it. I don’t believe the EPA and FDA will do the proper diligence to ensure the oil dispersant corexit and/or the oil itself are not causing the seafood to be unhealthy for human consumption.

According to the first article below, shrimp and oysters are very commonly harvested from the Gulf, forming a majority of domestic consumption. The second source also cites blue crab and fish, including Grouper, Mahi-Mahi, flounder, red snapper and tilapia. The Gulf provides about 2% of America’s seafood.

    I’ve read mostly about shrimp.
