Nuclear power is stored in power plants where it can be carefully monitored and reported on. The “safest” way to store nuclear power is in these plants, granted that it is carefully monitored regularly according to high, government approved standards. Safety is compromised when regular routine checks are not made, which can result in a Chernobyl-like disaster.
The power generated by nuclear power plants is just electricity, and generally it is not stored, at least not for any length of time – it is put into the electric grid to be transmitted and used.
If the question meant to ask about storing nuclear waste, that’s a very different question, but one that has had a lot of answers here. Just search on ‘nuclear waste.’
