What is a safe concentration of Carbon in our atmosphere?

Scientists agree that an ambitious but achievable goal for atmospheric CO2 levels is 350 ppm. Our current atmospheric carbon concentration is closer to 400 ppm and still on the rise. 350 ppm is the best estimate as to what atmospheric concentration would eliminate the greatest threats of global warming. Only time will tell if 350 ppm will be low enough to divert drastic effects of climate change however.
