Rosewoods, particularly Brazilian Rosewood and Indian Rosewood, are commonly used for artisan woodworking products. Some examples of products made out of rosewood include guitars, violins, pool cues, chess sets, furniture and flooring.
Rosewood is used mainly for making the fretboard of a guitar, not necessarily the body. It is a fairly soft wood, so they don’t have much trouble cutting out spaces for frets and lightly hammering them in.
