Heat causes evaporation, which as a part of the water cycle. This leads to condensation, as well as water storage within the atmosphere. The process of evaporation removes heat from the atmosphere as it occurs, as well.
Heat is the main component in the water cycle that helps evaporate water, turning it into water vapor. This vapor rises up and eventually becomes rain when cooled enough.
Heat can either be used to melt ice to water, or be used to turn water into gas (vapor) by boiling.
